Who we are: Portland's only swim school made specifically to include all neurodivergent and disabled swimmers right from the start.
Why we exist: We believe that everyone should have access to building a joyful relationship with the water, regardless of their ability to pay attention in a group class. Our Backfloat to Breathe program focuses on safety skills instead of Olympic strokes, so that every child walks away knowing how to navigate the water safely with their body.
Why are we hosting this community event:
Zen Penguin Swim School currently offers a completely self-funded scholarship program to students who need our services and accommodations, but can't afford the tuition. We are on track to give away over $140,000 in scholarships on our own in 2025! This community event is meant to reach out to our new local community, let the people who need us know we're here, and offer an opportunity for those more fortunate to help us provide assistance to more local kids!
Do you have a waitlist: If you're flexible, probably not! We have a lot of space in our new location open right now, so if you're interested in snagging a spot before we get a year-long waitlist like every other local swim school, head to our front page to submit an inquiry now!
